New comers will have a chance to win because there are a couple council people who are not motivated. They filed for re-election and figured that would be enough. This time it's not going to be enough to put your signs out and hope for the best. |

I was not the anonymous poster of "peer pressure". Most of you folks will be tickled to know that I will be moving to Huntsville Alabama to take a position with the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab where I will be working on plasma powered spacecraft. Andy, if it is your wish to unseat an incumbent, then would you not be better to attack the issues rather than people? These people hear the negatives being said about them, and guess what, they tell their families and supporters to not vote for that person..................... |

I do not know Mr. Little personally, so I can't speak to what he might do when he's campaigning.
But here's the thing: When you are a challenger, and all eight incumbents are running, how could you not criticize incumbents and have a chance of winning? |

How about Jerry Little? Nice enough guy, sells good cars, but a city official? Think not........ I understand he is out campaigning and bad mouthing two incumbents. He might do a little better if he didn't try that approach. Mary Eipert did, and you see what she got. People in Berea just don't seem to cotton to that negative stuff. |

I was told by a council member that they discuss things in the televised meetings, and if there is no negative feedback on whatever issue they happen to have brought up, they do what they want to do. So a little confrontation isn't always a bad thing and the only way to let them know how we feel. Probably only 2 will be unseated, if that many. While we have 3 very interesting challengers, having 16 on the ballot will foul up any changes that perhaps were forthcoming. This election is probably the single most important election in my memory. It will be a good gauge of our community's sentiment. Any change will be welcomed here in the Greene trailer. |

I heard an anecdote about a Berea City Council challenger who ran into an incumbent at the Madison County Court House and told him, "We're going to get you this time."
We'll see. But I did wonder how his confrontational approach would be viewed by voters. |
