No, now if I thought they were stupid and inept, I would have said just that.
You are right, they are cheaters and liars, and apparently everyone else on the board is either scared of Mr. Rogers, or they don't know any better. |

Thorn Your all wrong. Saying they are back ass wards tells me you think that they are stupid and inept. The Berea Youth Football sounds more like a bunch cheating sheherds herding the sheep to slaughter....all for the pathetic "glory" of their kids. I pity the kids on the presidents team...their parents obviously have lied to them and let them think that they all so great, instead of telling them truth about the cheating and deck stacking. |

They have no skills evaluation, so teams are able to be stacked and the team that wins the league gets first draft pick, which allows that team to remain stacked. It just so happens that the president of the league has won the superbowl 5 or 6 years in a row because he is able to stack his team. In no league, from little kids up to the NFL, does that happen. Only in the Berea Youth Football League. It is incredibly unfair but the president doesn't want to change the rules, because, holy crap, then he wouldn't win!!!!

Berea has a youth football league, but it has one of the most back-ass-wards boards I have ever seen. |

Andy....The Richmond Parks & Rec Board recently decided to begin holding regular quarterly meetings. People can call their office 623-8753 to find out the schedule. Anonymous 07/18/08 07:58AM......Is your daughter playing soccer in Berea? |

I was wondering: do you folks ever go to the parks and recreation meetings in Richmond to express your views? Seems to me it doesn't help much to get mad at the parents who support other sports when at the end of the day they don't control the resources for things like fields.
And when you think about it, it's a good problem to have --the fact that so many kids still want to play sports--and that not all of them are content to surf the net, play video games and text all day. |

Whoa Soccer Folks, I have nothing against soccer and I most certainly have nothing against the children, my daughter plays soccer. I am just saying that the football kids are getting the short end of the stick. Should baseball get what they can, sure? Should softball and soccer get what they can, sure? The only reason I singled out soccer was not the program as a whole, nor the kids, it is the leagues management practices or rather rule over the city that I questioned. My son plays football and I sat and defended the soccer league to the other football parents forever. But when they tore up the middle of the practice field to the point that the football kids could not practice there, in the late fall when knowingly the field would not/could not be even sodded until the spring and then even before that, just quit, what was the excuse. Be honest, this came right after the soccer / football confrontation, so what were they suppose to think… Revenge, absolutely and how was I to defend that. Actually I did not want to defend it because at that time I too thought that to be the reason and still do today as the fall football season is a month away and the glorious field is still setting there as a mud hole with no sod. I am sorry to those who may have thought that I was attacking the soccer kids as I was not, but for those who thought I have issues with the soccer league, your damn skippy I do. I do believe with all my heart that this field was torn up with malice toward the football league and at the direction of the soccer league and for that reason my daughter is playing this year in Berea. A part of me hopes that I am all wrong, but I can’t help but feel that I am not. Again, sorry to those who were offended, but to those who were just mad, maybe it is because I was right and figured it out. |
