Bicyclists have the same right to the road as an auto. They must stay on the same side as the auto traffic. Pretty sure that's a Ky. state law. with gas staying around $3.65, look for more! |

"stand on making that safer?" Well after EKU foolishly painted the road and installed a crosswalk, the city and state stepped in and removed it, and told EKU to tell the students to cross at the light. Now, to make things worse, these same stupid kids are riding bicycles in the road??? The only thing that needs to be done is to make the EKU children understand that Lancaster Road IS a STATE HIGHWAY, and to stay the hell off of it. Keep the bikes and the rest of their toys on campus!!! The first thing every child learns is to look before going into the street. Why they forget after they get to EKU is beyond me. But to even suggest that the city, needs to spend any money, or time, getting these people to understand the lessons their parents should have taught them years ago is plain STUPID!!! Don't waste our tax dollars on their foolishness. If RPD had any balls at all they would arrest the jay walkers and bike riders that are endangering all of us by being in the street in the first place. But no, they would rather spend their time complaining about poor pay and being talked to bad by the public that thinks they are laughing stocks to do anything positive.. Besides, as is evident by the drunk students walking back to campus nightly from downtown NEVER being stopped by our police proves beyond reasonable doubt that RPD is afraid of EKU. |

A girl got hit on a bike on Lancaster near EKU. When is the city going to take a stand on making that safer? |

What I was told is that it was actually pretty simple.
An officer comes upon not one, but two victims who are bleeding from stab wounds. Using the facts available to him, said officer concludes assailant caused the stabbing injuries. Officer confronts assailant and orders him to drop his knife, but said assailant does not. Officer, finding it necessary to prevent more stabbings (including potential stabbing of the officer) shoots assailant. |
