Bicyclists have the same right to the road as an auto. They must stay on the same side as the auto traffic. Pretty sure that's a Ky. state law. with gas staying around $3.65, look for more!

At last night's city council meeting, Randy Stone noted that the city had, I believe, $614,000 in revenue from the restaurant tax. Approximately $200,000 will be carried over to next year.

Has it paid off. We'll see. I believe Belle Jackson reported two weeks ago that tourists were coming to Berea, but that they weren't necessarily buying things.

Hmmmmm.

"According to the Law Enforcement Academy at EKU crime rates are down nationwide and in Madison County."

Yes, Concealed Carry, and Castle Doctrine laws have done a great deal in lowering crime. Think how far we would have been by now if we had not had some unknowing politicans jaming gun laws down our throats, telling us the police could keep us safe. Well as soon as they turned some symblance of protection over to the citizen, via the above mentioned laws, walla, the crime rate begin falling.

This is not a question, Andy, but an answer to the question concerning Saint Joseph Berea Hospital parking. I have worked at SJB for over 12 years and you are 100% correct about the parking. The culprite is the physician's offices who refuse to park over the hill in the designated area. Physician's offices have been told not to park out front for years now and they refuse to comply. One physician, when told his employee's must park over the hill, threatened to take his practice elsewhere and the hospital administration, 3 years ago, backed down. These are not hospital employees, but the physicians, nurses, aides, and secretaries who do not care enough about the patient's they are treating to leave them with adequate parking. It is even in their contract with the hospital, but they still refuse. One physician has even gone as far to write his employee's handicapped stickers so that they can continue to park out front when told not to. Unfortunately this is not an issue for Steve Connelly or Billy Blevins, Billy can only do so much--he must have the backing of the administration of the facility and Saint Joseph in Lexington.

I know the city of Berea has nothing to do with the running of St. Joseph's East in Berea, I am writing to let someone know my concern with St. Joseph's. There is no handicapped parking at front entrance to hospital, the one most people use. There is a row of parking spaces on each side of steps which most people use for office visits, pharmacy, etc. I am so aggravated when I see little, old people with canes, or ones you can tell have terrible health problems having to park in back spaces and walk, with canes or best they can, to get to the steps and entrance. You will see people whip in to the spaces closest to steps, jump out and run in, but the elderly and sick have to park behind them and walk farther. I have contacted Kim Davis, administrator, about this and am awaiting call from Billy Blevins who is over the parking lot area. I hope they will agree with me and make it easier for the elderly and disabled in Berea to visit hospital.

RE: Too hot for Richmond Mall?

This is stupid. Perhaps the security people should visit the food court area. Expecially on Saturday evenings. Last time I was there, things were quiet revealing and no one seemed to bother addressing that issue. Wonder if there is a different set of standards for teens and 20-ish people?

You suppose some little Jr. security officer wanted to put on a show? Any chance this is someone's Ex, who wanted to stir up a bit of trouble.

Face it. A short dress IS NOT near as revealing as a bare ass or nipples visable through onion skin cloth.

I agree with, Andy. Making mountians out of mole hills.(giggle) It's much ado about nothing.

Reminds me of a line on a TV show: "If you were in shape, you husband would be looking at you ass and not mine"

At the request of LightsNSirens, there is a new discussion board under Madison County government called Cell Tower Joe Lick Knob. Does the county need that cell tower for reasons of public safety? Log in, or post your comment anonymously on Feedback.

Green what if Olson is right? If fuel costs get too high people could start wanting to houses that use less energy. Think it can't happen? Look whats happening to trucks and SUVS. Dealerships with too many guzzlers are going under. So what would happen if the city had a new tract of houses that nobody wants?

Should'a hit spell check! I actually meant "dude". Never could figure out how to use spellcheck when posting on this site and I usually try to proofread, but I was in a litte rush this morning and I must'a missed that dropped "e".
I don't know the fellow, whoever was being confused with my postings. He's probably a nice person, as are most folks I've met that live or work in Berea. I was just trying to clairify.
Just like "Wheel of Fortune", one letter can make a big difference sometimes!
