For folks wanting to post messages in the Town Hall section:

In the last few days, some people have tried to get login ID's but they didn't work because the email address they used was not valid.

Remember that when you sign up for a login ID, you need to use a VALID email address, which is easily obtainable for free from Yahoo! MSN, Google, or whomever. Then, once you get your ID, an email will be sent back to your email account, at which time you have to click on the link to activate your account. It's pretty simple and your identity is as confidential as you want it to be.

Come on in. The water is fine.

Interesting idea, eccentric. Let me look into it. In the absence of that, if you simply want to rewrite it and post it, I do delete duplicate messages, so that's one way of getting it corrected.

I'll look into your idea, though.

I would like to see an "edit" feature added so that one might edit one's posts after one has posted them, should one notice a grammatical snafu in one's own writing. Awkward sentence structures could also be corrected.

Nice site but . . .

1) use folder tabs across the top for the main menu and all other menus - that will give you room for a couple more adds on each page.

2) add a link to the most recent posts from the home page - may encourage more participation.

3) I posted my first post yesterday. When I did, there was a very large blank space in the viewing area of my monitor. I had to scroll way down to find the text box to type in and the create button. I almost abandoned ship thinking I was waiting for a response. I have hit reply on several pages and this always happens.

Good luck,

Wheeler

Andy, It's very nice to have a website/service like this in the Berea area. Thanks for taking the initiative to put this all together. It's well organized and quite useful.

Andy replies: Thanks, Sean. Now and again I even get to write about the works of Berea Planning and Zoning Commission - perhaps one of the toughest jobs in government. If you like what you read, tell people about this site.

Just a note for those posting to the message board: When you register to post a message, you need two things: A VALID email address, and then you need to click on the link that is sent to that VALID email address to activate your account. Then you can post.

Most of you know this, but you can get a free email account at Yahoo! or MSN, or any number of places.

THIS MESSAGE WAS POSTED FROM ANONYMOUS. WHEN MESSAGES ARE POSTED IN THE FEEDBACK SECTION, I WILL POST THEM HERE FOR FOLKS WHO PREFER NOT TO LOG ON.

It seems to me that if you are going to continue to have the Obituaries on the main menu the you should keep it up to date and current.

Deciding what we're going to do on that. Getting the cooperation of funeral homes has proven difficult, even though it essentially amounts to free advertising for local funeral homes.

Your site is helping to fill a gap in news coverage of people and events in our city. Just read your account of the last P&Z meeting and your piece on the Berea Food Bank, BUURR, etc. I served on the P&Z and my wife and I support the food bank and BUURR. Berea citizens should know more about both of these activities. You are helping. Thank you.

To readers: Some who have wanted to participate in the Town Hall section but feel uneasy about registering with their email address have simply left their comments in the "Feedback" section. If folks want to post comments anonymously like that, that's fine. It may take me a little time to transfer your post to the regular discussion board, but it will be posted.
