For Steve Connelly:
Mr Mayor, is parking on the South side of the 700 block of West Jefferson Street prohibited? It does not have a yellow curb nor are "No Parking" signs posted.
At about 11:00 am Saturday I saw a Berea Police officer stop in the middle of West Jefferson, bluelight flashing, and instruct a lady who had parked legally on the South side to move from the road. She was parked nice and tight against the curb, straight as an arrow. She was headed to a yard sale, which the last time I checked, she had the right to do according to the Constitution of the United States of America.
Traffic was unaffected by the lady's actions, but was held up by the officer's actions.
What's up with that?

For Steve Connelly:
Why in the world would the City feel it’s responsible for hiring a respectable environmental engineering firm to evaluate the site?
Does the City NOT realize that’s the seller’s responsibility?
You stated in a previous comment that Parker Seal would be responsible for environmental issues.
Regardless of who purchases that property, the environmental issues should have already been addressed. Ask anyone one that worked there how many environmental issues they know of now.
Just one more expense for the City of Berea!
Answer: I think that hiring an environmental engineer who represents the interests of Berea is a prudent ste...

Will we really be able to enjoy a recreational facility that is being monitored by the previous owners (Parker Seal) for contamination? I believe in "striking while the iron is hot", but do we really need the potential headaches of that property?
Mr Green.

For Steve Connelly:
I do NOT work at a factory I work at a school and I don't think that I am any better than anyone else. I do think that something should be done about the long wait at the intersection of Mayde Road and 595. I may not work at a factory, but I have and I really feel sorry for those people because they have to work 12 hour shifts and then sit in traffic forever in the afternoon. I am not griping, I am merely asking for something to be done about the traffic situation and I don't think that is too much to ask. One police officer for 30 minutes at a time (8:00-8:30am) and 3:00-3:30 in the afternoon.I deeply regret if I hurt that persons feelings by asking for a little help.
Answer: I appreciate your frustration and concern for other motorists. Unfortunately, this is a situation th...

For Steve Connelly:
It has become pretty evident through what research I have done that the 3% restaurant tax passed a while back was passed against the wishes of the majority of the town. One could possibly excuse this manner of governmental practice were the tax for the benefit of something that is necessary. Adding to the tourism budget is NOT necessary. The people spoke, the council and the Mayor's office did not listen. How does the city justify taxing the citizens at a rate of 3% for an industry that does just fine on its own when the city is too cheap to pay for Hazardous Duty benefits for the police and fire departments? I am aware of Randy Stone's views on Hazardous Duty benefits as well. If he doesn't feel the service that our Police and Fire fighters render day in and day out is worthy of the city taking care of them appropriately, maybe his pay should be suspended. That should free up some revenue. He will not justify to the citizenry of this town the city's blatant and willful failure to care for their police and firefighters. I am sure the money generated by this 3% restaurant tax could go a ways toward covering this expense. Tourism is not more important than taking care of those who take care of us, our families, our homes, and our businesses.
Answer: How did you determine from your research the opinion of a majority of the populace in Berea?
You...
