For Steve Connelly:
Mr Mayor, is parking on the South side of the 700 block of West Jefferson Street prohibited? It does not have a yellow curb nor are "No Parking" signs posted. At about 11:00 am Saturday I saw a Berea Police officer stop in the middle of West Jefferson, bluelight flashing, and instruct a lady who had parked legally on the South side to move from the road. She was parked nice and tight against the curb, straight as an arrow. She was headed to a yard sale, which the last time I checked, she had the right to do according to the Constitution of the United States of America. Traffic was unaffected by the lady's actions, but was held up by the officer's actions. What's up with that?

Mayor, Would you ask Mr. Green to be more honest, he does not live in Berea now?

Will the new parks director be implementing any new programs, maybe aimed at the youth causing such an uproar in the Burchwood area? And to answer someone's question--I am a lifelong Berea resident. Mr Green.

For Steve Connelly:
"Steve Connelly answered" You are correct that the city is considering an offer to purchase the Parker Seal property, consisting of 9.8 acres of land and a 70,000 sq ft building, for $125,000 with Parker Hannafin assuming the monitoring and remedial liability for any chemical discharge remaining on the property. A decision to buy this property has not been made and will not be made until the issue of the contamination has been thouroughly evaluated by our own environmental consultant. Again, why at the city's expence? Why hasn't the city been on Parker Hannafin for the clean up of that property?

For Steve Connelly:
Why in the world would the City feel it’s responsible for hiring a respectable environmental engineering firm to evaluate the site? Does the City NOT realize that’s the seller’s responsibility? You stated in a previous comment that Parker Seal would be responsible for environmental issues. Regardless of who purchases that property, the environmental issues should have already been addressed. Ask anyone one that worked there how many environmental issues they know of now. Just one more expense for the City of Berea!
Answer: I think that hiring an environmental engineer who represents the interests of Berea is a prudent ste... Read Full Answer

For Steve Connelly:
Mayor, Would you please ask Mr. Green if he is a resident of the city of Berea? You will find that no, he is not, and is not entitled to talk about how tax money is spent in Berea.

For Steve Connelly:
Will we really be able to enjoy a recreational facility that is being monitored by the previous owners (Parker Seal) for contamination? I believe in "striking while the iron is hot", but do we really need the potential headaches of that property? Mr Green.
Answer: Mr. Green, I agree completely that the city does not need any environmental headaches. The city has ... Read Full Answer

For Steve Connelly:
Mr. Mayor, I have been told that you are out soliciting people to run against your current council members? If that is true, how would a feller get there? Any of them in particular that you are targeting? Thanks for answering.
