MCSO: Canine GoKu Assists Deputies in Drug Bust

Two suspects are in custody after police say drugs were found in their vehicle.

According to Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle, the incident occurred Monday around 5:15 p.m. when the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit initiated a traffic stop on Eastern Bypass for a traffic violation

Through the course of the traffic stop, Deputy Bol and Deputy Crutcher observed a syringe inside the vehicle, police said. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office K-9, GoKu was deployed and alerted on the vehicle.

After a subsequent search, Deputies seized suspected Methamphetamine, according to the MCSO.

According to police, Mike Moren, 41, of Richmond was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense, and Kinsey Hengst, 23, also of Richmond was arrested on an active warrant for a Parole Violation.

Moren and Hengst were transported to the Madison County Detention Center where a search of each resulted in additional charges of Promoting Contraband 1st Degree.
