So That's What Happened to the Yamato Sign

Criminal Mischief: On 02/17/2017 officers were called to Yamato in reference to a person that damaged a sign at the business. They located the subject walking on Prince Royal Drive, and observed several signs of impairment. A witness observed him throw a rock at the sign causing approximately $500.00 in damage. Officers arrested 36 year old Douglas Lacy (unknown address) and charged him with Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree and Public Intoxication.

In other police news:

Theft: On 02/13/2017 officers were called to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter. Store employees observed a female attempt to leave the store with a shopping cart containing merchandise valued at $468.52. When she was confronted by the employees, she discarded the merchandise and left in a vehicle. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

Drug Arrest: On 02/15/2017 officers responded to the 100 block of Jefferson Street to serve an arrest warrant. They eventually located and arrested 42 year old Darrell Lamb of Berea KY. In his pants pocket, Lamb had a metal container with a plastic baggie that had a white crystal substance. He was also charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine) and Drug Paraphernalia Possession.

DUI Arrest: On 02/16/2017 officers were called to the area of McKinney Drive in reference to a reckless driver. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted on Paint Lick Road. The driver showed several signs of intoxication and had an open alcohol container in the vehicle. Officers arrested 28 year old Aron Berry of Berea KY and charged him with several traffic offenses as well Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense, and Possession of Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle.

DUI Arrest: On 02/16/2017 a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle that was traveling in the wrong lane on Scaffold Cane Road. The driver showed several signs of intoxication and was eventually placed under arrest. Officers charged 50 year old Mark Wick of Berea KY with several traffic offenses, including Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense.

DUI Arrest: On 02/17/2017 a traffic stop was conducted on North Broadway for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle had an odor of alcohol and showed several signs of intoxication. Officers arrested 24 year old Joseph Maynard of Berea KY and charged him with several traffic offenses, including Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense.

Shoplifting Arrest: On 02/18/2017 Walmart employees observed a person conceal items in a purse that she removed from a shelf. She also removed her shoes and put on a new pair before attempting to leave the store. She was detained by store employees and eventually placed under arrest. Officers charged 47 year old Patricia Mays of Berea KY with Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.

Alcohol Intoxication: On 02/19/2017 an officer observed two people at the Berea Skate Park just before 3:00am. Both subjects had a strong odor of alcohol and showed other signs of intoxication. Officers arrested 18 year old Andrew Allen of Berea KY and 18 year old Randall Pigg Jr of Berea KY. They were both charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

Shoplifting Arrest: On 02/19/2017 Walmart employees observed a female attempt to leave the store with several items that she had not paid for. She was stopped by store employees and placed under arrest. Officers charged 20 year old Ashley Watkins of Berea KY with Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting.

Trespass/Drug Arrest: On 02/19/2017 officers were called to Walmart in reference to a person in the store who had previously been banned. The subject was placed under arrest and several items were located inside of her purse, including suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. Officers arrested 28 year old Brittany Cope of Berea KY and charged her with the following:

-Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree
-Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia Possession
