City of Berea Offers Deals in Online Auction

The City of Berea is be offering a number of deals on surplus property in an online auction that will begin on January 5 at 10 a.m.

The items are available for viewing on the website govdeals.com/BereaKYAuction, and may remain up for bid for two to three weeks, according to Berea City Administrator Randy Stone.

Among the many other items available, a number of used municipal vehicles will are up for bid, including an asphalt paver, a street sweeper, a 1989 Ford L-9000 truck, a 1984 Chevy C-60 dump truck, and a 1998 Chevy C-3500 that has been retired because it is “beyond economical repair” city officials said. Additionally, the event will offer a number of city-owned lawn mowers that are in need of refurbishing. Several bicycles that have been recovered by the city will also be included in the online auction.

Participants must be registered on the website to enter a bid, and registration allows them to bid in other auctions on the website. Those submitting winning bids have seven days to pay and 10 days after the close of the auction to pick up their items. There is a bidders premium, in which the participant submitting the winning bid is required to pay a small fee to help cover the cost of the auction.
