BPD: Suspects Arrested in Connection with Car Break-ins

Theft Arrests: On 07/18/2016 just after 4:00am officers were called to Johnson Road in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The caller stated that the vehicle was parked in the driveway of a vacant residence. The vehicle was located traveling on Johnson Road and a traffic stop was conducted. The officer observed several items inside of the vehicle including computers, jewelry, and CD’s.

Other officers checked the area and observed that several vehicles had been broken into. Officers arrested 24 year old Michael Tackett of Richmond KY and 27 year old Daniel Richardson of Berea KY. They were both charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking Under $500 (9 Counts) and Theft by Unlawful Taking $500 or More. Officers were able to return many of the items to the victims.

Theft: On 07/14/2016 officers were called to the construction site on Rash Road. Employees reported that several power tools had been stolen. Estimated Loss: $850.00.

DUI Arrest: On 07/14/2016 a traffic stop was conducted in the early morning hours on a vehicle that was weaving in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle showed signs of impairment and stated that he had taken two different types of medication. Three Hydrocodone tablets were located in his pants pocket. Officers arrested 48 year old William Samples Jr of Berea KY and charged him with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense and Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree. Samples also had an active arrest warrant.

Theft: On 07/15/2015 a resident in the 900 Block of Kenway Ave reported that her vehicle was stolen from her driveway. The vehicle was eventually located abandoned on I-75 and returned to the owner.

Alcohol Intoxication: On 07/16/2016 officers were called to the 100 Block of Morning View Drive in reference to someone trying to crawl through an apartment window. They located a female who showed obvious signs of intoxication. Officers arrested 35 year old Joann Culton of Berea KY and charged her with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

Public Intoxication: On 07/17/2016 officers were called to Richmond Road in reference to two suspicious people in the area of Berea Health Care Center. Both subjects were located and showed obvious signs of impairment. Officers arrested 40 year old Paul Adkins of Berea KY and 22 year old Magnolia Malicote of Berea KY. They were both charged with Public Intoxication, Malicote was also charged with Giving an Officer a False Name or Address.
