Waco man accused of criminal abuse of child
WACO – A Waco man was jailed last week after police say he abused a four-year-old child. The case is being handled by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
According to police, Craig F. Shearer, 30, of Waco, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for criminal abuse first-degree. The complaint alleges the incident occurred on Apr. 6. 2009.
The complaint stated:
“The above named defendant intentionally abused a four-year-old by way of punishment to wit: (hitting him with his fist) to the forehead causing bruises to back, and right biceps.” The complaint also alleges that the child was hit on the top of the head.
The child gave a statement to police regarding the alleged incident, according to the complaint.
Shearer was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.
