Thieves make off with thousands of dollars worth of equipment

BEREA - Police are investigating a theft on Spring Circle Drive that resulted in the theft of nearly $7,000 worth of diagnostic equipment.

Police say the incident reportedly occured Monday when unknown suspects pried their way into service vehicles belonging to Barnett Heating and Air Conditioning at 194 Spring Circle Dr.

Over $6,800 worth of diagnostic equipment and power tools were stolen from the trucks, while the thieves did approximately $1,730 in trying to gain entry into the trucks.

In other news, police were called to Wal-Mart Friday to break up a fist fight at the store.

The incident occurred at 1:20 a.m. when police arrived and observed the fight still in progress, according to reports. Michael Marcum, 18, Richmond, and Michael E. King, 23, of Berea, were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct second degree and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center, according to police.
