Madison County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Two after Brief Standoff

RICHMOND - On Sunday, July 24, 2016 around 1:18 p.m., Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies (Gibbs, Short, and Botkin) in conjunction with the U.S. Marshalls Office responded to Keystone Drive in Richmond in an attempt to serve warrants on Becky Calhoun and Shawun Parks.

A brief standoff occurred with Calhoun surrendering without incident after approximately 2 hours of negotiations.

Parks, who wasn’t at the scene, surrendered himself at approximately 7:30 p.m. to Madison County Sheriff Deputy Steve Gibbs, Special Deputy U.S. Marshall Fugitive Task Force.

Becky Calhoun, 38, Richmond was served with warrants from various counties throughout Kentucky ranging from theft related charges to persistent felony offender.

Shawun Parks, 37, also of Richmond was served with warrants from various counties as well as an active warrant from Madison County.

His charges ranged from unlawful access to a computer, theft and related offenses, to persistent felony offender.

Calhoun and Parks also have pending charges in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Tennessee.

Becky Calhoun was transported to the Laurel County Detention Center.

Shawun Parks was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
