Mayor, I recently heard some officials from Lexington talking about the entire region's need to capitalize on the Equestrian Games coming in 2010. Apparently there won't be enough hotel rooms in Lexington to house everybody that will be coming. Is the city of Berea and the business community doing enough to capitalize on that economic opportunity?

Berea is not yet doing enough but we have some time. It is an opportunity for this county and region to benefit and the event should serve as a reminder that the more our region cooperates, the bigger the benefit will be to us all. Tourism and business development are working on seizing the opportunity. Coincidentally, you know that a new hotel will soon open at Exit 77.
