In line with the question below, when was the last audit conducted of the retail operations (operated by the city employed golf pro), and the snack bar operated by the wife of Commissioner Bill Strong? When will these two entities be up for “bids”? So, that others will have a chance to run these businesses. Since the taxpayer’s money is being used doesn’t it make since to pursue the best deal in order for the citizens of Richmond get the best return for their money? Does one need to be a relative or connected to the city to get these positions?

To my knowledge, the city has never done any kind of management audit. The Gibson Bay Cafe should be up for renewal this year. The bid will be open to the public. I did not see where one needs to be a relative in the lease qualifacations. Mr. Strong was not in office when the orginial lease was drawn up.
