How about hosting swim and diving meets? The pool is sized and designed to host such things, isn't it? Does the Tourism Department actively seek sporting events to host as a means of attracting tourists to Berea? Randy Coffey

Swimming and diving events could be promoted. The Dolphins have talked about hosting a conference meet. At least two questions arise: 1) the diving boards were removed because of liability issues; does the city want to be a diving venue; 2) the more meets and conferences we host, the less time our citizens will have in the pool. A third issue with an outdoor pool is possible weather interference.

However, I beleive that the Tourism Commission is already exploring ways to tap into broad avenues of recreation tourism which would include such events.
