Question from Anonymous
Mayor or Andy? Why is that when a question that brought up that deals with the fire or police department, it is taken off? What happen to freedom of speech? Is there something that you two have against questions that pretain to the fire / police department?
I have noticed that about 5 or 6 questions has been taken off. Is it that you dont have an anwser or just refuse to anwser the questions asked.
Andy McDonald answered:
Thank you for asking. Sometimes I move questions from this section (Q&A) to a Town Hall message board when I feel the person is making more of an editorial statement instead of actually asking a question.
I'm delighted that you want your opinions heard, and I encourage you to post them on Feedback, which I will then post on a Town Hall message board.
I'm glad to provide a place where police and fire personnel can voice their concerns.
The only thing is that when a question is of the tone of "Have you stopped beating your wife, yes or no?" - that kind of remark I tend to move to Town Hall. For that reason, a remark that begins "Your last answer was deceptive...or, why don't you care about your own city employees?" falls into that category.
Understand that the mayor has never once asked me to remove a question. But as the manager of this site, it's my feeling that he deserves some degree of courtesy.
There is free speech. Feel free to post your comments anonymously on Feedback. Short of accusing him of being the second gunman on the grassy knoll, I'll usually post your remarks.
