Question. In order to have haz duty for the departments I only have to go to a city coucil meeting and ask? or do I need to call someone and have this put on the agenda? Also if I'm not in the city limits can I still request this. Berea fire comes to me but not the police.

Any visitor who does not have an item on the agenda can be regognized at the start of our meeting to comment. If you make such a request, I will ask you to explain why you think that Berea should enter the hazardous retirement program. In addition, council may have questions. After discussion, I will refer the matter to both the finance and the personnel committees for further evaluation and recommendations. The committees will report any conclusions to the full council.

Living outside the city limits may reduce your credibility. I suggest that you plan to state a compelling case to justify the request.
